36th Anniversary Celebration
If you missed our 36th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, April 7, 2007, you missed a kickin' good time. Literally thousands of customers and friends turned out to celebrate with Don and Janice Huffman and the Huffman family.
Don and Janice established the Harley-Davidson/Buell dealership in 1971. The theme for the celebration was "Old Fashioned Country Day." Employees and customers welcomed the opportunity to wear their country clothes. Music was presented by the "Foothill" Blue Grass Band and Gissmo who played a variety of music from country to classic rock.
Smoked turkey drumsticks, corn dogs, hot dogs and corn on the cob were a big hit throughout the day. Special events including a Horse Shoe Toss, Bull Roping and Pin-The-Tail on the Bike Tail Light were held. Winners in the Pin The Tail on the Bike Tail Light were first place, Debbie Summer; second place, Parris Pultz; third place, Bonnie Pultz.
The Bull Roping contest was won by Jim Watkins, second place went to Parris Pultz and Arnold Summer took home the third place prize. In the Horse Shoe Toss, Tom Shirk took first place while second and third prizes were won by Larry Gamboni and Wayne Citty.
Contest prizes were a $100 gift card, a $75 gift card and a $25 gift card. The Polk H.O.G. Club ran a 50/50 drawing which was won by Rich Matazarro. It was estimated that over 3,500 people attended the 36th Anniversary Celebration.
First Dealership Bike Night
History was made at Harley-Davidson/Buell of Lakeland
on Tuesday, April 17, 2007. We held our first dealership bike night.
A fantastic
night of fun and fellowship was enjoyed by over 500 bikers. Food, drink and
a variety of vendors were also on hand. Entertainment was presented by Gissmo.
Managing partner, Bill Monts de Oca, was
delighted with the turnout and promised something new and different to be featured
each bike event. He asked everyone in attendance to mark their calendars for May
15th for the May bike night.
Prizes were won by Richard Doviak who took home
the 100/100 drawing of $658.00. The Bike of the Night contest trophy was won
by Gene Kimble.
